Job Overview

WBCSD is seeking a professional to join the Food & Nature program. This is a full-time position based at the WBCSD offices in Geneva, Switzerland, reporting to the Director, Food Systems Transformation.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Manage development of WBCSD Food and Nature policy messages vis-à-vis global forums such as the UNFCCC, G20, UNGA, UNDP, CWF and as well as tailored messages for policy-makers in key national or regional jurisdictions (e.g. EU, China, US, India working with our WBCSD regional offices and Global Network partners etc.).
  • Coordinate and support Food and Nature policy messages development for WBCSD projects within the program, and link into the Food and Land Use Coalition and the Food Systems Dialogue.
  • Research, analysis and communication of key food and nature policy and regulatory developments.
  • Collaborate with WBCSD member companies, partner organizations and coalitions in outreach activities towards policy-makers with consistent policy messages.
  • Represent WBCSD Food & Nature within the business community, among policymakers and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s university degree level education with an economics /political science focus. Other degrees will be accepted if candidate has strong policy analysis/development experience.
  • Experience: minimum 8 years’ relevant experience, of which at least 4 years in a private sector multinational company in a policy analysis/development role.
  • Knowledge and expertise: Fluency in key food and/or nature policy and regulatory concepts. Experience of analyzing legislative texts. Evidence of effective translation between policy/regulation and business strategy. Strong understanding of the outlook for Food and Nature policy trends.
  • Facilitation and stakeholder engagement: Evidence of successfully facilitating projects and meetings with many diverse interests, good team spirit and the ability to build, nurture, and work effectively in (new) teams of partners/stakeholders. Capacity to be assertive and take initiative when appropriate.
  • Project management: Evidence of successfully managing competing priorities and ad hoc demands simultaneously, set priorities, effectively utilize available resources, identify and proactively address problems, working to deadlines.
  • Communication: Excellent communicator across languages and cultures both in person and in writing. Evidence of ability to translate between policy and business audiences.
  • Language skills: Fluent in English (written and spoken), fluency in additional languages is advantage.
