Job Overview

In a demanding and fast-paced environment across a breadth of subjects related to sustainability, the central marketing function is growing and looking for an outstanding Marketing Manager to join the team and support our efforts in engaging with our unique community of business.

The Member engagement Marketing Manager will collaboratively create and tactically execute the integrated member engagement marketing strategy. This includes planning for and executing integrated marketing activities towards our members and the platforms that we engage them with. The successful person will also be provided with strong planning and executional skills, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with our community of members and our team, and personal drive in support of WBCSD’s goals and priorities of work.

This role is critical as it is new to the organization and part of the newly recently established marketing function, building on our mission to increase our reach and impact. This role will be reporting to Director, Marketing.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Leading and implementing member-specific marketing strategies and plans across our membership
  • Conceptualizing and executing member engagement and marketing activities with brand marketing, communication and events, with a focus on community management and engagement
  • Leading activation programs with members and the community to improve visibility and impact, with a focus on digital engagement
  • Collaborate cross-divisionally to ensure that the member engagement marketing plans are aligned across WBCSD and in full synergy with the Member Relations team as well as the project teams.
  • Support the internal engagement and envisioning of all member engagement marketing related activities

Strategic input

  • Support Marketing Director with development of the global marketing strategy to advance the mission of the organization, mobilize members, increase awareness of sustainability interventions and drive improved uptake of organizational tools and resources, creating the recognition of the impact of this work.
  • Support the growth aspirations of our community of members and the impact that it can have, behind a concise global marketing vision and strategy.
  • Supporting the organizational goals towards member-centricity and holistic member marketing approach

Insights & analytics

  • Be the voice of our customers, our members, within the marketing, communications and events team
  • Collect and consolidate the available data to provide guidance and inputs for the development of the plans

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business, Marketing & Communications, or related field
  • 5 to 7 years of experience, preferably from a marketing-focused organization.
  • Successful track record of deploying successful multi-channel marketing campaigns from ideation to execution.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in online marketing tools and platforms.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a go-getter attitude.
  • Fluent English is a key requirement.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and team members.

This full-time position is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and may also require international travel.
