Formed in 2005, the Tire Industry Project (TIP) is a voluntary CEO-driven initiative with a mission to anticipate, understand, and address global environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues relevant to the tire industry and its value chain. ​TIP acts by commissioning independent research of the highest standards, collaborating on sectoral solutions, and engaging with external stakeholders. TIP currently brings together 10 leading tire companies that represent more than 60% of the world’s tire manufacturing capacity.

Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven intern for a 6-12 month period to support the Communications Senior Manager in delivering the TIP communications plan. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in the field of communications, working closely with our team and members to support our internal and external communication efforts.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Assisting in drafting and editing content for various communication channels, including newsletters, media releases, website content, and social media platforms
  • Supporting the coordination and execution of communications specific to sustainability along key stages of the tire lifecycle
  • Assisting in managing TIP social media presence
  • Updating website content
  • Monitoring and reporting on news- and social-media coverage of priority topics
  • Supporting TIP representation at events, including conferences and webinars
  • Drafting content for presentation for internal and external audiences
  • Coordinating meeting schedules and taking meeting minutes

Qualifications Skills and Experience

  • In the final stages of, or having completed a degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field
  • An interest/specialization in sustainability/technology/the natural sciences
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential
  • Detail-oriented with good project-management skills, and excellent analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • Comfortable working in an international environment
  • Comfortable working with and communicating scientific and other technical information to different target audiences
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Familiar with the use of social media platforms
  • Knowledge of content management systems is a plus
  • Previous work experience in communications, public relations, or marketing is advantageous but not required
  • Teamwork: evidence of successfully working across teams and diverse interest groups
  • Growth mindset: motivated by learning and challenges
  • Team-player, self-starter, adaptable
