It is a joint workstream between WBCSD and OP2B.

In this role you will report to a pathway manager who oversees the PPD workstream. You will also work closely with the wider WBCSD organization – in particular the communications and events teams.

This role would suit a candidate interested in gaining exposure to a wide range of initiatives working with business to transform agricultural & food systems, and who is highly collaborative, with excellent writing and communications skills, and a high level of attention to detail.

This may include managing timelines; tracking consultant and partner contributions; writing and editing internal and external communications pieces in support of the deliverables; working with members to collect feedback and technical contributions; etc.

Member relations and communications

  • Contribute to and help lead the execution of member calls and team meetings. This may include preparing pre-reading materials and presentations, coordinating with speakers and partners, recording action points, and assisting with logistics.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance of the member database and internal working files.

Events

  • Contribute technical input, logistical support, and speaker recommendations and briefings for global and organizational events, such as the WBCSD Council Meeting, NYC Climate Week, the COPs, and more so that messaging and actions from the PPD workstream is communicated and leveraged across stakeholders.
  • Represent WBCSD, OP2B, and the Agriculture & Food Pathway at external events as necessary.

Requirements of special knowledge/skills

  • 6 months or 1 year of professional experience relating to sustainable agricultural systems and/or business strategy is an advantage
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainable and regenerative agriculture and food and/or business approaches to sustainability
  • Excellent writing skills, including an ability to summarize technical information and identify key messages for different audiences
  • Strong PowerPoint skills and interest in communicating complex information visually
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to manage complex processes
  • Experience managing competing priorities and ad hoc demands simultaneously and working to deadlines – project management skills are a plus
  • Strong listening skills and ability to understand diverse perspectives and interests
  • Team player with ability to work effectively with colleagues, partners and stakeholders
  • Hands-on and self-starter attitude
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Fluency in English
