Job Overview

Safe Operating Space 1.5 (SOS 1.5) is WBCSD’s flagship program on Climate Action. 70+ member companies are working within seven workstreams to accelerate decarbonization.

WBCSD is seeking a Senior Associate to work in the Climate Action team with a focus on bespoke content creation and dissemination. The Masterclasses are based on the SOS 1.5 roadmap providing a maturity framework for companies. The objective is to support and enable our member companies to accelerate their Climate Action journey. The work focus may broaden depending on the further evolvement of the Climate Action program. The position will report to the Climate Action Manager.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Shaping the content of WBCSD’s Climate Action Master Class series in collaboration with external partners
  • Connecting with all SOS 1.5 workstreams and further relevant WBCSD projects to align and to source relevant content for the Master classes
  • Supporting facilitation of round table groups
  • Ensuring high Member Engagement and retention regarding participation in the master class series
  • Creating actionable outcomes of the Master Classes that can be used in different settings and formats
  • Support on other workstreams as the Climate Action program rapidly evolves

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree, or equivalent in environmental science or sustainability.
  • 5-6 years of experience in sustainability and/or decarbonization project delivery, working with formal and informal teams.
  • An understanding of the current “state of play” of global decarbonization and the challenges of corporate decarbonization, as well a passion to transform this.
  • An action orientation with evidence of mobilizing stakeholders to deliver results.
  • Excellent communication skills in person and in writing, with the ability to adjust style of communication to suit audience.
  • Strong PowerPoint presentation capabilities.
  • Highly organized and proactive with the ability to effectively prioritize and work across multiple workstreams.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, other languages welcome.
  • Good team spirit and the ability to build, nurture and work effectively in teams of partners/stakeholders, able to interact with senior representatives of member companies.

The position is permanent and full-time and based in London United-Kingdom, Amsterdam Netherlands or Geneva, Switzerland
