Operating in a demanding and fast-paced environment across a breadth of subjects and sector verticals, the Member Relations function is looking for an outstanding Key Account/Member Manager to join the team.

We are looking for an agile, consultative salesperson who can contribute to the team’s success in terms of attraction of new members and engagement of existing ones. We are looking for a curious and adaptable individual that can convene and inspire companies to act on sustainable systems’ transformations. The ideal candidate can build strong relationships with companies and network within the organization to express the best of the organization’s value proposition.

The ultimate goal is to increase the member experience and to contribute in sustaining and growing our member base in order to achieve long-term success in accelerating the system transformations needed for a net zero, nature positive, and equitable future.

The position is full-time and based in Amsterdam, Geneva or London, but will also require international travel with flexibility.

Responsibilities & Duties

Responsible for high-quality member experience and further deepening and broadening member’s engagement (cross-selling), collaborating closely with project teams and outreach functions. We are looking for a person that

  • Builds and maintains trust and good quality relationships with member company representatives and ensures coordinated interfaces between WBCSD colleagues and the member
  • Understands the strategic priorities and challenges of companies, monitors member performance and engagement, strategic outlook, insights, latest news, etc.
  • Collects, updates and maintains critical member data and information, tracks evolution of relationships including organizational changes, key contacts etc.
  • Keeps up to date with WBCSD offerings that match member’s priorities.
  • Works with members to identify opportunities for leadership & engagement, ensures members are aware of value add and all information relevant to their engagement.
  • Ensures the upselling of value within the member company organization

Education and experience

  • Master’s degree in a business, commercial or related degree with at least minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Interest in Sustainability and the role the businesses can take to address the world most pressing challenges
  • Proven experience in key account management.
  • Experience in sales and providing consultative solutions based on customer needs
  • Business acumen and understanding of corporate strategy and how sustainability represents its backbone for execution
  • Understands corporations 'organizations and works across multiple interfaces to build up to desire outcomes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong ability in problem-solving and negotiation
  • Extremely strong written and verbal communications skills with multi-cultural sensitivities
  • Facilitation and stakeholder engagement: Evidence of successfully aligning different stakeholders and the ability to create effective relationships with new partners or stakeholders. Capacity to be assertive and take initiative when appropriate
  • Teamwork: Evidence of successfully working across teams and diverse interest groups
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to manage own projects and ad hoc demands simultaneously, set priorities, effectively utilize available resources, identify and address problems, and meet deadlines
  • Language skills: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential, other languages an asset.
