Job Overview

WBCSD is looking for a talented Intern to work as part of our Global Events team. You will play a proactive role in the organization of our global corporate events, assisting the team in creating engaging experiences for WBCSD members and partners. If you’re the ideal candidate, you are polyvalent, flexible and have strong organizational skills. This is a full-time position for six months, starting on 3 June 2019 at the WBCSD offices in Geneva.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Support the Global Events team in delivering successful conferences including and not limited to WBCSD’s Annual General Meeting of 500-600 high-level attendees, from conception to post event-management.
  • Provide project management support by preparing timelines, communications and tracking progress to achieve milestones and objectives for the team.
  • Assist the Global Events Manager with the invitation and registration processes for participants and help manage events data on Salesforce.
  • Support the Global Events team in providing end-to-end orchestration of logistics for events, from contracting to delivery.
  • Complete all data on Corporate Events Management system, pre-event and post-event to include all invoicing, final attendance figures, budget reconciliation etc.
  • Provide administrative support and manage event related inquiries

Qualifications

  • University degree in business, hospitality management or related fields
  • Previous experiences in Events Management would be a significant plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, comfortable with multi-tasking and self-management
  • Excellent written and verbal communications as well as presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and deliver on project timelines/deadlines
  • “Can-do” attitude, able to analyse problems and proactively find appropriate and acceptable solutions
  • Calm and organized work approach with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in English. French and/or other language a plus.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience working with Salesforce

The position is full-time and based in Geneva, Switzerland, but will also require international travel (within the EU).
