Job Overview

WBCSD is hiring an Associate for our India office to provide communications support that will lead to greater value creation for existing and prospecting members around the world. We are looking for a capable individual that can translate business strategy to sustainability imperatives and communicate this effectively to relevant stakeholders. The employee will be based at the WBCSD offices in New Delhi, India and report to Director, WBCSD India.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Develop summarized, written materials (such as SWOT reports, guidance, fact sheets, director briefings) by collecting intelligence, research, drafting text.
  • Create links between companies and influencing factors that WBCSD can adopt and use to drive scale of business solutions.
  • Scanning and reporting on key developments in the major economic systems that effect sustainable development.
  • Conceptualize and draft newsletters, external communication materials.
  • Draft tailored narratives on key sustainability topics of relevance to corporates in India.

Qualifications

  • Background and experience: Master’s university degree level education from reputable university with a business or communications degree
  • 3-5 years of professional experience gained in a consulting or research firm, international not-for-profit, multilateral or bilateral institution – in the communications department would be a bonus
  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to convert strategy understanding to sustainability imperatives.
  • Data-driven, outstanding communication skills. Able to research and triangulate uncertain data to develop useful business information.
  • Knowledge and expertise: Good understanding of the value proposition related to sustainable development. Curious, inquisitive, resilient, personality with systematic, self-starting, flexible working style.
  • Project Management: Able to take a project and break down into tasks towards it. Respectful of timeline and schedules. Flexible working hours to fit with the cadence of a global team and market.
  • Knowledge of sustainability issues, e.g. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • Knowledge of major MS-Office tools (Excel, powerpoint, word)
  • Experience with preparation of newsletters, external communication material
  • Language skills: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is critical. Other languages an advantage.
